Linting

A linter is a low-level testing tool, which is used to avoid common errors done by developers, or enforce project guidelines.

Linters check for common patterns in the code which might cause issues later on. If possible, they usually support a “fix” option, which fixes all of the issues automatically, which can be fixed automatically.
