Borrowed Creativity

“The Brain is for having ideas, not for storing them”

The idea of maintaining a second brain assumes that creativity is simply connecting existing ideas in novel ways. This means there’s no truly new ideas. Therefore it makes sense to maintain an exocortex, which can take care of keeping track of ideas you’ve come across, so you can use your actual brain to make connections between the ideas and thereby be creative.
